Beckley Boy does us proud!: Joshua Sparks a keen horticulturist at Sissinghurst castle has a fantastic write up in this months Wealden times magazine. We should be very proud and pleased that he is behind the wonderful ideas for the frog field and surrounding areas for the jubilee field. (Better Beckley Project)

Beckley pre-school: are looking for a bit of help in the front garden area that they use. They are in need of some fencing along one side of the garden . This is to make it look nicer and safer for the children , who love playing , exploring and growing - fruits , vegetables flowers etc in this garden . Presently they continually cut back brambles and stinging nettles as they grow through what they have up fence wise at the moment . Would really appreciate any help in providing the fencing materials , help putting it up or both . Being a charity run pre-school and love and are enthusiastic for what we do for the children of the village and surrounding areas but run on limited funds . Please feel free to drop any into us during the week into our postbox which is on the wall of the village hall building,There is collection box inside the hall also or pass them on to some one that has children at the pre school. These enable us to get cooking and physical equipment for the children to use.

Village Centre Hire: By people hiring and supporting fund raising events put on by the hall committee it will keep the hiring costs down. Why not book a Children’s party, wedding reception or meeting. The Village Hall is available to hire either of the 2 halls or committee room. Defibrillators Public access defibrillators (PADs): Can be found in public spaces:Thanks to Beckley Parish Council, Beckley has now got one located on the wall by the main doors at Beckley village hall. Its briefcase-sized box on the wall contains a PAD. It’s there for anyone to use on someone in cardiac arrest.They are simple and safe. The machine gives clear spoken instructions. Once in position, the defibrillator detects the heart’s rhythm. It won’t deliver a shock unless one is needed.Every second counts After a cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and de fibrillation reduces someone’s chance of survival by 10 per cent.
