Firefighters and staff from Rother Borough at East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service are supporting White Ribbon Day tomorrow (Wednesday, November 25).

All staff have been issued with a badge supporting the campaign and there are plans to fly a flag from the training tower at Bexhill Community Fire Station.

Station manager John Owen will be visiting a local college to speak to students.

He said: “The White Ribbon campaign sends out a strong message against domestic violence.

“We’re taking a stand to say that we will do what we can to help protect the most vulnerable in the community.”

The White Ribbon Campaign is organised by men who know that there’s never an excuse for violence against women.

They pledge never to condone it, or to stand by when they know it’s happening.

The campaign’s website also has advice for men who may be in an abusive relationship.
