Bexhill video shop gutted in arson attack

A FIRE-raising maniac is being hunted by police after the third arson attack in Bexhill in as many months.

A 4am fire-bomb attack gutted the TVC video store in Devonshire Road today.

Royal Naval crews with Green Goddess fire engines from Hastings and Eastbourne were helped when striking Bexhill firefighters crossed their own picket lines to assist.

Twenty eight residents of Dalmore Court flats block above the store were evacuated. Under the care of the Hastings-based Fire Victim Support Unit the were taken by ambulance to the Jarvis Cooden Beach Hotel where they were given shelter until the building was later declared safe for their return.

Devastated video store owners Steve and Ayres saw 20 years of work go up in flames.
