Westridge FC had their foirst fixture with a win of 4-1. A good start; this was a friendly. A local derby takes place on August 24, Westridge takes on Sandhurst FC with a start of 3pm.

Next fixture for the cricket club is on September 1, away to Rotherfield with a start of 1.30pm.

The nxt service at St Giles is the family service at 11am with a baptism on September 1, with the vicar of Bodiam taking the service.

I’m sure how hard the car park staff of the National Trust worked over the weekend of the Grand Medieval Weekend. Colin the car park manager with his number two, Nick Waterhouse, with William, Helen and Alan and some boys from Bodiam did very well. Colin has taken over from Alan as manager, who is now in the twighlight of his years and is a good friend to many in Bodiam. The car park staff do a very good job for the trust, and they are the first people that visitors see.

A big thank you to all who helped deliver bottles of water to Bodiam residents flowing the major leak. I have sent a letter to the South East Water about the major leak with some very good questions.

Please Bodiam do not forget the Sunday service over the bank holiday.

To book a boot for the Bodiam Church of England Primary School bootsale in the Castle Inn garden phone Katie on 01580 830451. This will take place on bank holiday Monday.
