Bodiam Pre-School Playgroup: Takes place in the Parish Room from 8.45 - 11.45am then there is Lunch Club and it re-opens from 12.30 - 3.30pm, children bring their own packed lunches. For more information contact Mel Porter 01580 830615.

Church Services: The next service at St Giles is Holy Communion on the 17th January at 11.15 am. Many people come up to me and say we have not had a Parish News for January- There is no January edition but it will be back in February but you still have that great Rye/Battle Observer to read.

Phyllis Landels: It may not be the best of starts for some very good friends to Bodiam but I do hope that good things will come their way soon but someone who is a happy lady is Phyllis Landels, her big day is 31st July when she will be the Big 80! It is hard to take on board that she needs a bit of help to get on the bus. All of Bodiam hope that Phyllis will have her party in Bodiam which has been her home for 79 years.

What a Christmas: for Bodiam no Post service for five days, no Doctors Surgery for five days, perhaps we all start to see why our Hospitals have a lot to do. The Bus service told us Christmas Eve there would be no service for five days but I am told the Secret Bus Service took place on Bank Holiday Monday. I made a phone call to the ESCC who did not know about the service and members of the public did not know either. What a way to go on! Is it a good life in a small village?

Claremont Senior School: and Sixth Form are to have an Open Morning on the 23rd January 9.30 am - 1 pm. For more information phone 01580 830396.
