Bodiam village voice

WHEN a tree fell in 2011 at Bodiam Castle, Mike Williams, one of the visitor experience team, felt it was a great shame not to use some of the oak.

Luckily all in charge at Bodiam Castle agreed and a decision for Sir Edward was quickly realised. Mikes has spent more than 75 hours on the project. The installation will be where the tree stood.

St Giles Church had its first marriage of 2012. Barnaby Thomas Swiffen and Zoe Simone Wells on Saturday March 17.

Many people get on to me about there being no news in the Parish News about Bodiam. That is right, but if Karen does not have Bodiam news, what can she do? Articles for publication must be submitted no later than the tenth day of the month to: Karen Wake, Old Forge Cottage, Ewhurst Green, Robertsbridge, Sussex, TN32 5TD. I’m sure Karen will put the article, or articles, in the Parish News.

The funeral of Tom Weeks, who passed away on March 21, has taken place. But if anyone would like to make donations in memory of Tom, please send them to Cancer Research UK c/o C Waterhouse and Sons, High Street, Burwash, East Sussex, TN19 7EI. Phone 01435 882219.

News for Bodiam - we now have a second class post service. The other day Levetts Lane has its post at 12.30pm. Is this a good service? Stamps are to go up at the end of April. We do not like to see the cost go up, but perhaps we will have a good service.
