Bognor fair highlights variety jobs up for grabs in the care sector

Care assistants, qualified nurses, managers and support workers are just a few of the vacancies in the area.

Bognor Regis Jobcentre Plus mobile unit team and Greenbanks Homecare have teamed to host a care sector fair at the Jobcentre Plus.

Labour market recruitment adviser in Bognor, Dot Palmer, said: "People may have preconceived ideas about caring, but it can offer a way in to an industry that is bucking the economic downturn by taking on staff.

"You can enter at a variety of levels and don't necessarily need any qualifications, just good people skills and self-motivation.

"You'll be offered on-the-job training and there are good career routes once you're in the profession."

A career in the care sector can seem daunting or not very glamorous, but can be hugely rewarding and offer plenty of opportunities to gain qualifications and for career progression.

Greenbanks Homecare regional manager for Surrey and Sussex Matthew Parris said: "Our carers have an incredibly satisfying role.

"It provides them with a flexible and varied career which pays. If you're reliable and enjoy interacting with people, we want to hear from you."

unit at Bognor Jobcentre Plus in the High Street on November 5 between 10am-3.30pm.
