Bognor Regis diners enjoy 154 Christmas pudding helpings

DINERS at a Bognor Regis centre have tucked into its homemade Christmas pudding.

They enjoyed 154 helpings of the dessert served up by chef manager Andrew Rowlett and his staff and volunteers at the Laburnum Centre for the over-50s last week.

One of those who enjoyed the sweet treat at the Age UK West Sussex-run building was Lana Coombes. She said: “The pudding was excellent and my compliments to the chef. It was very fruity and enjoyable”

The pud was made by Mr Rowlatt, with some help from the centre’s members, in early September. It included two bottles of brandy, 15lb of mixed fruit and 12 small cooking apples.

“I’ve still got another 80 servings left,” he said. “I’ll seal it and serve it next year!”
