PRAISE has been given to skilled staff at Cinque Ports Vets in Rye who gave Boris the bat the power to fly again.
Boris causes a stir last week when he recovered earlier than expected and set off a burglar alarm at the Cinqe Ports Street vets.
He was brought in to the vets by John Smith, from Broad oak, Brede, who found him grounded and looking in a bad way, in his garden.
A surgeon saw that his wing membrane was torn and managed to repair it with some delicate suture work.”
Rye Deputy Mayor Bernardine Fiddimore, who works at the surgery, said: “They are very skilled and used to treating small animals. They did a good job as Boris was not expected to be able to fly again so soon.”
Cinque Ports Vets branch manager Mel Butterick said: “Boris is continuing to progress well at Mallydams wildlife centre.”
