BREAKING NEWS: Woman stabbed in Littlehampton supermarket

A woman has been taken to hospital with stab wounds after an attack in a Littlehampton supermarket.

Police were called to the Somerfield store at Anchor Springs at about 4pm today (Tuesday, September 16).

The premises were cleared while forensic officers and detectives began their investigation, and an area around a checkout was cordoned off.

One man was arrested an is in police custody. The woman's condition is not known.

Tonight the supermarket remained closed and officers were still working inside.
