Friday 13 September the Friday Farmers Market is going strong after the new management took over. Friendly Circle has resumed doing the refreshments and as before the money taken for them will go to a local charity. You will find your weekly groceries, fish, meat and dairy products as well as ideas for Christmas presents. This week you could also support Hearing Link’s fundraising cake and coffee party in the Village Hall 10 – 12. In the evening at 7.30pm Short mat bowls will take place also in the Hall. The Post Office still needs your support it is open from 11am – 1.00pm in Broad Oak General Stores.

Sunday 15 September 9.30am sung family Eucharist at St George’s Brede. The Preacher this morning at the Trinity Methodist Church is the Reverend R Roberts at 10.30am. The Cricketers next three games will be away matches, the first is at Lydd beginning at 1pm. From 5pm at the Rainbow Trout, Kevin Jones will be entertaining.

Monday 16 September In Brede Village Hall at 10.30am Age Uk Day Centre opens its door. The day will include News items, Dominoes, Musical Bingo, a Parachute game and there will be a raffle Maureen has requested that anyone attending brings a raffle prize if they can. In the main Hall at 7.30pm the Whist Players have their Monday session. In the small Hall the Rainbows start at 4.00pm with Brownies following at 5.30pm.

Beavers are in the Scout Hut at 5.30pm - 6.30pm, Cubs meet from 6.30pm – 8.00pm. Helpers and a Scout Leader are still needed, if you can assist Please Contact Colin Ward Group Leader 01424 852413 – 8.00pm Guides meet at Udimore Hall at 7.15pm

Tuesday 17 September Painting for pleasure is held in the Village Hall. at 9.30am. The Mobile Library visits Oakhill Drive 3pm – 3.40pm Reedswood Road 3.50pm

Wednesday 18 September the WI Harvest Lunch is in the Village Hall.

Thursday 19 September Stretch and Tone with Sally is at 9.30am at the Village Hall. The Mobile Library will visit Brede Village Hall between 1.25pm – 1.55pm. In the evening at 7.30pm Brede Village Hall Management Committee have a meeting. Design with Flowers’ a new flower arrangement club, for those who are hoping to begin or expand their floral knowledge, will be held in Udimore Parish Hall. Between 7pm and 9pm. The cost is £2.00. The subject is An Autumn Arrangement with Flowers and foliage from the hedgerow and/or your garden. Pots, floral foam and pot tape etc will be available on the sales table or If you know that you will require these items contact me, Rhiannon 01424 882037 so that they can be reserved for you.

Friday 20 September Brede Farmers Market from 10am – 12 Rainbow Trout Cocktail Night with their own cocktail Barman

Saturday 21 September at St Mary in the Castle Hullabaloo. Performers from all over Sussex will give non stop entertainment from 12 – 6pm. Tours of this iconic building will take place at intervals throughout the day. Hear about the ghosts, visit the crypt and sit in Queen Adelaide’s Pew. This is Hastings very own Tardis. Go and join the fun.

Future Events

Friday 27 September join the Worlds biggest coffee morning at St Mary’s Community Hall Udimore in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. There will be a bring and buy, Plant and Cake stall. The organisers will welcome cakes, plants etc. on the day.

Saturday 12 October the WI Quiz Evening, in Brede Village Hall £7.50 each for a hot supper. Please contact Ann Elam 01797 222604 to book in your team as soon as possible.
