Friday 27 September Brede Farmers Market from 10am – 12 In the evening at 9pm the Rainbow Trout have the talented 1066 Rocket men entertaining those who join them in the Pub. The Short Mat Bowls Club is in the Village Hall at 7.30pm. They have asked me to give a plea for new members there are only 7 of them at present and they would like to meet new people. Just pop in and they will welcome you and invite you to join in.

Sunday 29 September 9.30am sung family Eucharist at St George’s Brede. The Preacher this morning at 10.30am in the Trinity Methodist Church will be Mrs Christine Freeland. The Cricketers game this afternoon will be their last outdoor game; it is an away match against Hurst Green. At the Rainbow Trout, from 5pm The Shauna Parker Band will be playing to those assembled.

Monday 30 September Age Uk Day Centre opens In Brede Village Hall at 10.30am. The day will include News items, Games, jigsaws, and an open afternoon. Go and be nosey and see what they do Maureen and staff will be delighted to see you. The Whist Players are in the main Hall at 7.30pm. In the small Hall the Rainbows start at 4.00pm with Brownies following at 5.30pm.

Beavers are in the Scout Hut at 5.30pm - 6.30pm, Cubs meet from 6.30pm – 8.00pm. Guides meet at Udimore Hall at 7.15pm Call Hayley 07525168770 for more information or if you want to join.

Tuesday 1 October Painting for pleasure is held in the Village Hall. from 9.30am. The Mobile Library visits Oakhill Drive 3pm – 3.40pm Reedswood Road 3.50pm Vegetarian week: see special menus at the Rainbow Trout today.

Wednesday 2 October Bishop Martin who is the Bishop of Chichester will be visiting the Rye Deanery and today he will be at St George’s Brede at 12 noon. He will preside over the service, and he will be celebrating the Eucharist with the Congregation. The Brede Mother’s Union meet at 2.30pm in St George’s Church Brede, their speaker will be the Reverend Dick Dengate.

Thursday 3 October start to trim for those Christmas party dresses by joining Sally’s Stretch and Tone at 9.30am in the Village Hall, followed by a Mobile Library visits to the Village Hall Between 1.25pm – 1.55pm.

In the community Hall this evening Brede Players will be busy rehearsing for their Christmas production.

Friday 4 October the Farmers Market will be in full swing at 10am. The Village Hall Committee invite you to join them for soup etc at 12.30pm after the Farmers Market to discuss the formation of Friends of the Village Hall Group. In particular they need helpers to keep the Hall open when it snows. Support and advice on keeping the Hall as a well used venue would also be one of the groups main functions. For more details please contact Maggie 01424 883149. Also this evening the Rainbow Trout will be holding a Charity Barn Dance for St Michael’s Hospice. Tickets are on sale at the Pub the cost is £30.00, which will include a three-course meal. There will also be a Charity Raffle and it is hoped Fancy dress will be worn. The music is a live band that has their own professional caller to help everyone learn the moves. The Short mat bowlers will be in the Village Hall at 7.30pm. Do not forget they would like new members. What ever you are doing this evening have a great time.

Every Monday from October 7 Battle Area Community Transport will be providing a direct bus service from Broad Oak and Brede to be at Sainsburys by 9.50am. Collection points are – Broad Oak, Furness Lane, 9.32 Brede Village Hall and 9.33 Red Lion this will be a hail and ride service so if you are between these points and Sainsburys the bus will stop for you.
