The Parish Council met last Tuesday, the people from the Village who turned up had a chance to hear what Carl Maynard had to say about the probable cuts to East Sussex County Council next year and how it may effect Rother District Council. It is not known what effect they will have on Parish Councils. They heard updates on things happening in and around our Village. Many people have cut their hedges and they look neat and tidy but there are others who have not. The Parish Council respectfully ask that if you have a hedge bordering a path or the road then out of courtesy to pedestrians who may be hindered or hurt and road users who’s sight might be obscured please cut hedges as soon as possible. It is the best this time of year as birds are not nesting and the sap in plants is not rising and is nearly dormant, During Question time, the Parish Council were asked If anything could be done about irresponsible drivers parking Cars at the end of Reedswood Road and cars blocking drives also in that road some even parking on the pavement and also in other parts of the Village. Apparently the Rainbow Trout has kindly offered their car park to be used for the school cars so that parents can walk with the children from there. The PCSO Richard Perchard has been told about this problem. The assembled also wanted to have an update on the affordable housing due to be put up next to the Rainbow Trout. The Chairman Carol Kynvin proposed that the Housing Association and other relevant people be contacted and asked if possible to attend the next Parish Council meeting. If that is not possible then an extraordinary meeting will be called suitable to them.

Future events:

The first meeting of Design with flowers went well and everyone present had wonderful end results. A decision was made that the next meeting will be in the afternoon. Thursday 17 October 1pm – 3 pm so that it will fit in with mums having to pick up children from school and no one will have to travel on the dark winter nights. We will be doing a round design. If there are any queries please contact Rhiannon 01424 882037
