Brede Farmers Market is from 10am to noon in Brede Village Hall and last week a table had the most delicious home-made chocolates (back on December 11) and another table had delectable meals, some quite different and with an oriental twist and another with walnuts and cob nuts, wooden children’s toys and adult articles, home-made cards and apple juice, apples from a local orchard. Fish, meat/game and vegetables. I am sure I have missed something out; but it was good to browse and sit with friends and chat. All highly recommended. The evening will include a few Carols to join in with and it is all in aid of the Poppy Appeal so do go to support and enjoy this event. Payment on the door £5.00 incredibly good value for money. We as a family have enjoyed this event for over 20 years and I can remember our daughter as a small child falling asleep under a village hall chair despite the loud noise coming from the brass band. We have watched youngsters in the band, grow into adults and become parents themselves. Awards to the band are also presented at this event and over the years this has become a very special concert dear to the hearts of many in Broad oak and Brede. Numbers have dwindled due to people moving away and passing on; so support from younger and new people in the Parish would be very welcome.
