Butlins hosts Europe's biggest belly dance event

Dancers and teachers from all over the world flocked to Butlins to perform a mix of dance styles from traditional Egyptian to American tribal fusion.

Guests were offered the chance to attend a diverse array of seminars and workshops, catering for all levels of ability and all styles of dance.

Each session was led by a professional dance teacher with years of experience in their field.

The event was organised by Josephine Wise, who is a leading expert in belly dancing and is highly regarded by her contemporaries across the world.

She said: 'This was the first and largest event of this type in Europe.

'It was ground-breaking in terms of the quality and variety of dancing.

'We had everything from country-fusion to highly athletic contemporary dance, from complete beginners to some of the most advanced dancers in the world.'
