A BARRISTER has claimed drug taking is rife at music festivals held at Pontins in Camber.

Mark Hapgood QC called police and Rother Council to account following the death of a 36 year old Surrey man who died after taking a combination of ketamine and alcohol at an event last June.

Company Director David Clow died at the Conquest Hospital after attending an All Tomorrow’s Parties festival at the Camber holiday resort.

Mr Hapgood, acting for the dead man’s family, described the difficulty in getting prompt medical attention as “shambolic” and said the event was “chaotic”.

He spoke out as East Sussex Coroner Alan Craze adjourned an inquest at Hastings ruling that as the Health and Safety Executive was involved there would have to be an inquest in front of a jury.
