“Brent Holder, a former world champion steelpan soloist, will be working with TLA steel bands during the morning of the festival as well a performing with his band in the afternoon.

“It’s not every day you get the opportunity to learn from a world champion,” said Lee Nelson, head of music at the academy.

Among the other top attractions will be performances from Rachel Hayward and Jenny Gilberg, also former British steelpan soloist champions, and Euphoria, from Brighton.

Shows will also be put on, of course, by the academy bands, and the Connaught Junior School steel band.
