Come along to the Village Hall on Saturday the 25th, at 10.30 am, to support Jill and Hazel`s `Time for a Cuppa?` in aid of Admiral Nurses.

- Since our very successful fund raising last year, the charity Dementia UK has made great progress in Kent and Sussex. Their representative who came to our first WI meeting of the year said that what we had done for them in Catsfield had been a real inspiration, and there was very good news in the pipeline.

Entrance to the coffee morning is £1.50, which includes a cup of tea/coffee and in the hall you will find homemade cakes, bric-a –brac, books galore, a raffle and tombola and of course the delicious refreshments.

Everything you spend will go to support those who suffer with dementia and their families as Dementia UK works to fund Admiral Nurses.

- On Thursday March 2nd, the WI hold their monthly meeting in the Village Hall at 2 pm.

There will be lots to arrange, as we have our annual Jumble Sale on Saturday March 24th and the East Sussex Federation of WI`s Annual Meeting in Eastbourne is on March 28th.

The speaker at the ESFWI meeting will be the glamorous Katie Derham, who introduces the Proms, and our Catsfield Representative for the occasion will be Thora Webber.

The speaker at our March meeting will be Alan Stainsby from Crowhurst, who will talk about high status food in the medieval period, or Post Nosh at Bodiam, as he likes to call it. They certainly knew how to feast in those days and the kitchens were not places for the faint hearted.

I think we will all be ready for our tea by the time he has shown us his mouth watering slides!

- St Laurence Church is encouraging us to join in the Big Read on Sunday March 4th, in order to raise £5 a reader, for our church. What could be nicer than to sit down with a good book for an hour on Sunday to help with church funds? The Rector has the forms, or I am sure Jane Overall would find you one.

- The service this Sunday at St Laurence is at the usual time, 9.15 am, for the first Sunday in Lent.

We all look forward to the time when our organist, Bob Andrew, will be back with us. Fortunately, the news is that he is now on the mend.

The choir, the congregation and everyone connected with music in the village send best wishes for his complete and successful recovery.
