David said: “We have six rowing boats being built at the moment, with a further ten being built starting after Easter.

“We are looking for local input from children to name the boats. All successful names will receive a free boat trip each month of the 2016 season, during our first year having the boating lake open.”

The competition will run from two weeks from today, ending on March 3.

Entrants must visit the Mewsbrook Park Boating Lake Facebook page and leave a name on the pinned post placed at the top of the page.

A total of 15 names will then be picked and each successful person will receive 1 boat trip per month the boating lake is open during 2016.

Mewsbrook Park, which boasts a Green Flag Award, is considered one of the country’s top parks.

It is a hidden gem, tucked away behind Littlehampton Swimming and Sports Centre, off the seafront.
