Crowhurst Church celebrated the opening of a new extension with kitchen and toilets on Sunday.
The attractive wooden and stone building mirrors the existing church porch and extends the use village groups and beyond can make of the parish room within the church.
The Very Rev’d Nicholas Frayling, former Dean of Chichester Cathedral, preached at a full morning service on the importance of serving the community and paid tribute to the tireless fund-raising of the congregation and all who had supported this or provided grants towards the building. Later, guests, including members of Rother Council attended the official opening.
Valerie Mighall said: “We received a community grant from Rother Council and were pleased to be able to thank their representatives. The ribbon was cut, the room blessed and drinks and refreshments were enjoyed by all.”
