The worldwide car club The Reapers is holding the first-ever American classic car event in Rye this Saturday, in aid of Help for Heroes. They are expecting hundreds of classic motors, including Chevys, Fords and Cadillacs, as well as modified hot hatches.
Entry is just £1 and there will be a barbecue, live rock ‘n’ roll music from Something Else, and soft drinks. Entry money and proceeds from the sale of all merchandise such as keyrings, badges and wristbands will go to the charity.
The car club’s UK president, John Murray, said: “People can bring their own classic cars or just come along and look at the fantastic vehicles on display, which include classic American police cars. We want to raise as much money as possible for Help for Heroes, so come along, enjoy the evening and support this very worthy cause. It’s going to be a great party atmosphere.”
The event will be held at Rye Bay Coachworks, Harbour Road, Rye this Saturday (May 26), from 8pm ‘til late. For more information, call John Murray on 01797 223228 or 07884 343979, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
