Battle police have donated £500 to the committee planning the Concorde 1066 event.
The event will commemorate the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings on October 14 2016 and will bring visitors from far and wide to the town.
Chairman Simon Alexander said: “The committee of Concorde 1066 is immensely grateful to our local police for their support.
“This £500 cheque will be put toward making the event an all-encompassing commemoration.
“The 56-page handbook will be published in May next year but details of the event can be seen at: www.concorde1066.co.uk.”
The donation comes from the Police Property Act Fund (PPAF), made up of monies received by the police from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold.
Police community support officer Emma Phillips said: “I am very pleased to be able to present this cheque.
“Having worked in Battle for nearly 11 years, I have had the privilege of being involved in many events and it’s always a pleasure to see the enthusiasm and pride that is put in promoting the town and its history.
“I wish Concorde 1066 every success.”
