Countdown to Battel Bonfire Boyes’ two day spectacular

A TOWN carnival, two evenings of musical entertainment and a dog show are amongst the delights awaiting visitors to Battle next weekend.

And Battel Bonfire Boyes are pulling out all the stops to make it a weekend to remember.

The two-day event will kick off on Friday June 29 with a barn dance, to be held in a marquee on the recreation ground in North Trade Road from 7pm-11.30pm.

Music will be provided by The Howlers and a licensed bar and hot food will be available.

Saturday morning (June 30) will see a collection of colourful costumes and fancy floats making their way through Battle town centre.

The carnival procession will set off from the recreation ground and head through the town, and back again to herald the start of the Boyes’ annual summer fayre at midday.

The fayre, which is being sponsored by Crowhurst Park, will once again include a dog show and the usual array of craft and trade stalls.

Entry to the fayre is free, but donations to the Battel Bonfire Boyes will be welcome.

The weekend will come to a close with another evening of musical entertainment, headlined by the 1066 Rockitmen.

The event will run from 7pm until 11.30pm.

There is still time to enter a float into the carnival or hire a pitch for the fayre.
