THE Battel Bonfire Boyes Battle Summer Fayre Weekend will return with a bang later this month, with two evenings of musical entertainment, a dog show, craft show and carnival procession.
The fun kicks off on Friday June 28 with a barn dance in a marquee on Battle Recreation Ground, with the Catsfield Steamers entertaining from 7pm.
On the Saturday morning the town will burst into life with a carnival procession, with floats, youth groups and bands heading from the recreation ground through the town to the Abbey Green before returning to the rec to herald the start of the summer fayre at midday.
The summer fayre itself, as in previous years, will include a dog show with a minimum of 10 classes where dogs can be entered on the day for showing.
There will also be a craft show, part of which will be housed in the marquee, with numerous craft, trade and general stalls of interest outside, together with all the traditional fete-type stalls and smaller fun fair rides.
There will be live music during the afternoon together with a barbecue, bar and refreshments.
The summer fayre is again being sponsored by Crowhurst Park Holiday Village.
The day will be rounded off with a musical evening in the marquee at 7pm with The 1066 Rockitmen back by popular demand, with supporting acts.
Entry to the summer fayre is free, donations welcome. Tickets for the barn dance and music night cost £10 for adults, £25 for a family and are available from www.bbbevents.com or Alan Hunting Associates in Mount Street.
