There’s everything from one soldier’s terrifying tale of D-Day landings – with bullets and shells zipping over his head – to a Rustington woman’s fight to save Jewish infants from the Nazi death camps.

Also revealed in the paper is the vital role Rustington played in making the 1944 invasion a success.

And, sticking with a war-time theme, our fourth instalment of the First World War pullout has also been released.

Other news this week includes the latest update on The Littlehampton Academy, which has now been praised by education watchdogs Ofsted, for its ‘rapid improvement’.

There is also a shocking report about a man who was jailed for more than ten years for committing a ‘terrifying’ robber on a disabled 64-year-old.

But there’s plenty of good news, too, including a stunning four-page picture special of East Preston’s festival and carnival, as well as a preview of Rustington’s own carnival and procession.
