A teenage boy needed hospital treatment after he was attacked by a gang in St Leonards, police said.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and information about the unprovoked attack and assault on the 13-year-old, which took place this week.

The boy was walking on the upper promenade in Grand Parade towards Warrior Square at around 4pm on Monday (November 28) when he was set upon by a group of two boys and a girl, one with a black scooter, police said.

He was headbutted and then punched in the face. He was taken to Conquest Hospital in Hastings for treatment to his injuries, police added.

The group, who were all wearing black, then made off towards Hastings Pier.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the group in the area around the time or who may have more information is asked to report online or call 101 quoting serial 1180 of 28/11.
