Further victims urged to come forward after spate of vehicle crime in Lewes

Witnesses and victims are being urged to come forward following a spate of vehicle-related crime across Lewes.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team are investigating reports of incidents from overnight between Sunday 21 and Monday 22 March, Sussex Police confirmed.

Car windows were smashed and, in some cases, thefts from the vehicles have been reported as well.

The incidents corresponded with a large area spanning the Neville Estate, town centre and Pells Pool area, according to police.

Sergeant Amy Mason of The Lewes Neighbourhood Policing Team: “We are actively collating the information we have received and are keen to hear from further victims - and ask that they contact the police directly.

“We would also urge anyone with relevant CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage to get in touch to help us identify potential suspects

“Officers from the team will also be making house-to-house enquiries in some of the key areas affected.”
