Police searching for St Leonards man after boy suffers several stab wounds

Police are searching for a St Leonards man they want to interview about a knife attack on a teenage boy, a spokesman confirmed.

The 17-year-old boy sustained several stab wounds to his lower legs when he was attacked at an address in Marline Road, St Leonards, on the late afternoon of Monday, March 22, police said.

On Tuesday (June 1), police issued an appeal to help finding 29-year-old James Maloney, who they would like to interview about the incident.

Maloney is described as white, 6ft, and slim, with brown hair and blue eyes. He visits the Hastings and St Leonards areas.

Anyone who sees Maloney is asked not to approach him but to call 999 right away, quoting serial 1125 of 22/03.

A spokesman for the police said: “A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, and drugs offences, and is currently on police bail until 21 June while enquiries continue.”
