A TEENAGE boy has been arrested in connection with a string of shop burglaries in Battle.

The 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods following a police raid on a property in the town on Thursday August 11.

He was questioned and released on police bail until September 24, pending further enquiries.

It is the sixth arrest to be made in connection to the June break-ins, which saw a number of Battle businesses targeted, including Benji’s Coffee Shop, COOK, Gift World, Webb’s Garden and Home Store, Battle Dry Cleaners and Media South.

The other suspects are due to answer bail on September 17.
