Westfield teen hospitalised after violent mugging

A TEENAGER from Westfield ended up in hospital after he was violently mugged by a group of men in St Leonards on Sunday, March 25.

The 18-year-old was walking through Warrior Square Gardens towards the seafront at around 6pm when he was grabbed from behind and knocked to the floor.

The man was hit several times and his mobile phone was taken from his pocket.

He was left with a black eye, cuts and bruises and was taken to the Conquest Hospital for treatment.

It is believed that five or six men were involved in the vicious attack.

Hastings police say it was an unprovoked assault and are appealing for anyone with information to call them on 101, quoting serial 1264 of 25/03/2012.
