Day centre garden is vandalised over Easter

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a garden belonging to an East Sussex County Council day centre on London Road was vandalised over the Easter holidays.

PC Elise Beckham, of Bexhill Neighbourhood Police Team, said: “ We believe the garden was vandalised sometime between Thursday, April 21 and Saturday, April 23 - St George’s Day.

“The users of the centre are very upset that their garden project, which involved lots of time and money, has been subjected to such mindless criminal damage.”

The garden is owned by a charity. Four large terracotta plant pots were smashed and a large cut was made in a poly-tunnel greenhouse, causing £150 worth of damage. A yellow garden hose pipe and reel was also stolen from within the greenhouse.
