Driver collides with 30ft tree near Funtington

DELAYS have been caused after a car struck a tree and flipped onto its side between Funtington and Aldsworth this morning.

Police were called to the accident just before 7am today, Wednesday, July 15, on Common Road.

The male driver was out of his car by the time police arrived and he is not thought to be badly hurt.

His vehicle was on the side of the road while the 30ft tree was down and blocking part of the carriageway.

The debris has now been cleared and traffic is moving freely, though the road is expected to be closed later this morning for recovery.
