Elderly Hastings man dies after falling off bicycle in Rye

An elderly man from Hastings died after hitting the kerb and falling off his bicycle in Rye.

The 84-year-old cyclist crashed into a kerb on Harbour Road at the junction with Tram Road at around 10.45am on Thursday (July 14).

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Conquest Hospital but he died four days later.

The East Sussex coroner has been informed.
