This united worship will take place across the nation between the great Christian feasts of Ascension and Pentecost.

The Bishop of Chichester, Dr Martin Warner, has responded to the archbishops’ call and will launch the initiative – which is called Thy Kingdom Come – locally in Chichester Cathedral on the Feast of the Ascension next Thursday (May 5).

Sussex churches across a range of traditions and a variety of locations have started to share their continuous prayer events.

In Hastings there will be two days of prayer for evangelism on May 11 and 12 in many of its churches, including Christ Church Blacklands, Holy Trinity Hastings and St Matthews in St Leonards-on-sea.

In Brighton and Hove, Revd Tim Watson will be leading a week of 24:7 Prayer organised by the Chemin Neuf Community, and supported by the Diocese of Chichester from May 8 – 15.
