MERRIMENTS in Hurst Green will be welcoming some unusual guests to their garden on Sunday when Xtreme Falconry will bring along birds of prey for some exciting falconry displays.
With a well-used bird hide in the four-acre garden, Merriments is no stranger to feathery friends, but on Sunday expect to see eagles, hawks, falcons, owls and vultures thrilling audiences.
David Weeks, Merriments owner said: “We encourage birds and other wildlife into our garden but are looking forward to a rather bigger species making a guest appearance.
“Xtreme Falconry’s bird of prey displays are run by experienced and professional falconers with a passion for the birds that will thrill the audience. The displays are combined with lots of crowd interaction and participation.”
Martin Ballam from Xtreme said: “The birds are flown to demonstrate their outstanding natural abilities during which time the audience will observe the awesome power of the eagles, cute and cuddly owls and falcons swooping past at 150mph.”
Xtreme Falconry will be at Merriments on Sunday, 10am-4pm. Tickets cost £6 for adults (includes garden entry) and kids go free.
