Exploration of sunken forest takes place at Pett Level

Volunteers are needed for environmental archaeological field-work at Pett Level’s sunken forest between September 22 and October 3.

Dr Scott Timpany, from ORCA Marine and Orkney College, is looking for volunteers to assist in an English Heritage funded project to investigate the Mesolithic submerged forest and intertidal peats at Pett Level.

Work will include surveying, recording, taking samples and carrying out auger surveys.

If you would like to get involved contact Scott for more details at scott.timpany@uhi.ac.uk or call him on 01856 569224.
