Hide AdJo Clear Assistant Headteacher at Church Street said: “This was a wonderful community event where over 300 students get to perform on a stage and in front of a large audience, along with lights and a fantastic live band. How often does that happen?”
The competition was excellent again this year with music teacher Dave Berliner bringing out the best in the groups with some very encouraging conducting. The choirs were all supported by Jon Reeves, Learning Leader for Music and a team of students giving some expert musical accompaniment.
Jo Clear along with Headteacher Nick Wergan, Katie Brownings and four Sixth Formers were this year’s judging panel. In second place were tutor group 7JLB and third place 8YL.
Nick Wergan said: “It takes grit and zest to sing confidently in front of your peers, and we saw these learning characteristics in abundance. The students gave each other great support and we are proud to be a ‘singing’ school.”
