Firefighters taking part in fundraising car wash event

FIREFIGHTERS from Battle will join the National Car Wash next month, raising vital funds for The Fire Fighters Charity.

The National Car Wash which is celebrating its tenth anniversary, is the charity’s largest national fundraising event of the year.

All funds raised go to The Fire Fighters Charity, the UK’s leading provider of life-enhancing services for serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.

The car wash event will take place at Battle Community Fire Station on Saturday March 15, 10am-3pm.

Chief Executive of The Fire Fighters Charity, John Parry, added: “The National Car Wash provides a vital source of income for our charity, as well as being a fun event with the opportunity for the Fire and Rescue Service to talk to members of the public about issues such as flooding, road safety and fire prevention.

“As a charity, we rely entirely upon donations from the general public and the fire and rescue community.

“We would like to encourage members of the public to show their support for our fire fighting heroes by visiting their local fire station - and afterwards drive away safely, in a clean car!”
