Fun day prizes

MORE than 100 children visited Father Christmas during a Family Fun Day held in Heathfield.

Furnishing shop William Hill Interiors was transformed into a magical grotto, courtesy of Heathfield and District Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

Youngsters who visited Santa were also able to take advantage of free face painting in the town, while street entertainment in the form of a lone piper, a troop of Morris Men and a town crier entertained the grown-ups.

Children between four and six took part in the hunt. All correct entries were placed in a box and a winner, Adam Aucock, four, of Parkside Primary School, was drawn. Adam won two tickets to Legoland, kindly donated to the chamber.

A second prize of a large cuddly teddy, donated by William Hill Interiors, was won by Callum Laddiman, four, of Old Heathfield Primary School.

A shop window competition, judged by Jeni Woodhouse of Huffle Nursery, was won by Bear Necessities for their simple but delightful Christmas Eve tableau.
