GOING PLACES AT LAST ON NEW BUS

RESIDENTS in Littlehampton are celebrating getting their new about-town bus service after a three-year fight with West Sussex County Council.

The service will officially start on Monday October 15. Its route will include the seafront but because of financial constraints it will be limited to a Monday to Friday morning service.

Residents who have stood shoulder to shoulder and campaigned for the new service say that West Sussex County Council had initially refused any funding for the service,despite many meeting with the people.

Campaigner Doris Tyler said the lack of bus had ruined her retirement and all her little pleasures such as going to Arundel and Bognor had been taken away.
