Governors needed for various schools in area

Cllr George Blampied, the chairman of the joint western Arun area committee of various councils, said school governors had an important role in promoting high standards of education.

'You don't need to have formal qualifications '“ just an interest in and commitment to the education of children.

'The most important quality is an ability to listen, think and ask questions.

'Governors play an important role in overseeing the running of a school.

'They give direction and focus, ensuring the best possible education is provided for the pupils in their school,' he stated.
