Groups given slice of fund’s £154,000 cake

LITTLEHAMPTON Shopmobility and a group which wants to build a new children’s play facility in Walberton are among the latest beneficiaries of grants from the Sussex Community Foundation.

The foundation, set up in 2004 to generate funds for groups across Sussex, has given £4,000 to Shopmobility and £1,924 to Community Playcentre@Walberton.

The grants were part of a £154,220 share-out by the foundation to 55 Sussex charities and community groups, taking the total distributed over the past decade to more than £6m, contributed by individual and corporate donors.

“Once again, we’re delighted to bring together our generous Sussex donors and the groups that need their funding,” said Mary Carruthers, programmes manager for the foundation.
