Marion Seabrook, committee chairman, said 25,000 was spent on the new-look hall.

She added: 'The hall will be used as before but it will be much more comfortable, safer, warmer and lighter.'

The 90-year-old hall was closed for six weeks while refurbishments, such as new flooring, rewiring and gas heating, were put in place.
