Hiroshima remembered

MORE than 100 people turned up to commemorate Hiroshima Day with Lewes CND as dusk was falling.

The record numbers met by the Ouse under Phoenix Causeway to float their candles in the river to remember the victims of the atomic bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Susan Murray made an address and Eileen Buckeridge read a poem. Andrew Sherwood played the violin.
