Hooe coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support

It was all family fun at the coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support at Hooe village hall on Saturday.

The event was organised by Alison Reeves with her mother Jane Fuller, her sister Melanie Dowling, and brother's partner Paula Webb.

Alison's two sons Michael and Thomas were also on hand to help out, as were Mel's daughters Molly and Rosie, and Paula's daughter, Erica.

Alison thought there had been a good response to the local effort and said: "Everybody knows somebody who has had cancer. This is such a good cause - the Macmillan nurses do such a good job.

"We have had a lot of people in today, and the cake stall has particularly done very well and we have sold lots of raffle tickets too, so hopefully we have made a good amount for money for a good cause."

Mum Jane commented: "This is only the second one we have done and we have had a good response today. For such a small village it has been lovely."
