Hundreds contribute to art project

An engineer and a health-and-safety officer are among the professionals who have pooled their ideas together.

More than 800 people have already given photographic images to create an 'open space' sculpture in the school's courtyard.

Marina Castledine, community arts development officer at the school, said: 'We have been working as a team and there is a lot of work to do in the run-up.

'We are now looking at the details of the structure and we are getting down to the nitty-gritty.

'We are excited as it will be an amazing artistic piece once it is installed.'

Will Nash, the artist who is overseeing the project's creative development, gave a talk to Year 11 GCSE art and design students on

October 5.

He told them about his experiences and how he built a career as a professional artist.

The students are following his example by contributing to the Our Space project.

Feedback from members of the public will also be welcome once the presentation is open.

The project runs from October 18 to October 20 at the school.
