Hundreds of pounds worth of jewellery stolen from house in Rye
A burglary at a house in Rye last week resulted in £300 worth of jewellery being stolen.
On March 17 a house in Pottingfield Road was entered and a quantity of jewellery valued at about £300 was stolen, police say.
Detective sergeant Paul Elrick said, “If you saw anything suspicious in Rye that afternoon, or of you saw a green Landrover being driven erratically in St Leonards on March 20, please contact us online or by calling 101, quoting serial 356 of 17/03.”
According to police, 41-year-old Chantelle Williams, unemployed and of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with the burglary and with stealing a green Landrover.
She appeared in custody at Brighton Magistrates Court on March 23 and was remanded in custody to appear at Crown Court at a later date, police say.
