Hurst Green

Colin Boylett, 2 Park Farm Close, Etchingham

Hurst Green Fete is tomorrow (Saturday June 8), starting at 2pm.

After the great success of last year’s Jubilee Fete the village are putting on a Fete this year with more stalls and activities than ever before. In addition to the usual attractions bouncy castle, coconut shy, face-painting, beat the goalie etc. the Fete will feature jugglers and a magician as well as live music playing throughout the day (and into the evening) from three bands.

Teas and coffees and cakes are being provided by Little Acorns Playgroup.

And if you haven’t dropped in to see the newly opened Hurst Green Shop and Café yet, then this will be the perfect chance to do so – the shop is right next door to the fete and the opening hours are being extended especially to run to the end of the afternoon. On that note, are there any more volunteers out there? The shop and café is getting much busier and needs even more volunteers; if you can spare a morning or just a couple of hours on this would be a great help them. You can make further enquiries at the shop.

The Harmonique Singers are looking for new singers. The choir started in September 2011 and they have had an exciting and fun year. Their firs performances were at the Hurst Green School Christmas Fair, and the lighting of the Christmas Lights at the new shop site. In May they sang at the Quiz Night for the Twinning association, and they sang two songs during the Comedy Capers Children in Need concert in November 2012, and again at the lighting of the Christmas Lights. The group has a regular committed group of members meeting on Mondays at 8pm in the village hall, and would like some new members. The group sing Rock Pop and Gospel and there are no auditions, it is a choir for having fun. For more information contact Rebecca on 07855691855
