Friday 11 July I was in the audience for”Smile Boys - That’s The Style”. The Memorial Hall was full of poppies and photographs commemorating that grim time. Yet the choice of readings, poetry, music and short scenes was so w ell balanced that we could empathise with the range of emotions which the “Great “ War produced . The talented cast developed the enthusiastic audience. The second half jollity of the Music Hall was a good contrast. It would be wrong to mention one name. Congratulations to the Icklesham Players and the Acting up in Rye for a first class show. If you missed it. there are performances tonight and tomorrow in the Rye Community Centre.
