Sue and John White would like to thank all those very generous people who have sponsored and supported their cycle expedition to Morocco last month when they went up Mount Toubkal. Sue says it was extremely tough going but very worth while bearing in mind the sponsorship proceeds are in favour of her Charity BACE which supports educational projects in Gambia. Sue and John have done a tremendous lot of work out in the Gambia in recent years and the monies raised will enable many more children to have good schooling facilities.

The Iden Fete Committee recently held its Annual General Meeting when it was announced that despite the thunderstorm interrupting the afternoon’s events, the total takings were £13720.97 which was slightly down from last year’s £14635.66 (-6.3%).

The total profit from the Fete was £5959.76 which was down from last year’s £7022.99.(-15.1%). Nonetheless this was a fantastic result and the Chairman would again like to thank all those people who helped and supported the event. Very hard work but well worth the results.

The equipment has been given in memory of the late Rene Regandanz of Corkwood Farm who was a renown environmentalist and recorder of Iden history and its wild life It was particularly appropriate that Mechtild, his wife of over 51 years unveiled the screen accompanied by her daughters and their families. Representatives of Village Organisations were also present as they will be able to use the equipment at their various meetings.
